Mailborder reduces the strain on your internal email server by allowing only clean, valid email to be delivered internally. Email is first received by the Mailborder email gateways where the it is processed via your set instructions. After the email is scanned for viruses, spam, and malicious content, only the clean email is then delivered to your internal email server. Quarantined email is retained as per set policies and can be reviewed and released if desired. The control panel provides a wealth of tools such as file type restrictions, dangerous content scanning, the ability to disarm dangerous email, graphing, history, white lists, black lists, notifications, and much more.
Open Source Core Technology
All of the base components of Mailborder are open source software. This allows you full control and disclosure on every package running on your Mailborder Email Gateway. Current base operating systems supported are Red Hat v6.x (CentOS, Scientific Linux included) Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Debian 6 and 7.
Postfix is the mail transport agent used to route and deliver email. Postfix implements a high-performance parallelized mail delivery engine.
SpamAssassin uses a variety of spam-detection techniques, that includes DNS-based and fuzzy-checksum-based spam detection, Bayesian filtering, external programs, blacklists and online databases.
